The Opening Post suggests that Alienware m17 R4 has Dell warranty.  The "No Video - Screen does not display anything" fault is discussed in Alienware Computer Does Not Turn On or Go Into Windows | Dell US. Getting the laptop screen, or external monitor to work is a diagnostic must have. During power-on, there should have been System-diagnostic lights, but this is not included in the Opening Post. 

The laptop screen's backlight could have failed so that the screen appears black, but has a very faint image. Connecting laptop to external monitor should then provide copy of image on laptop screen, but this does not work.

The battery could be fully depleted, but laptop is designed to function as Desktop when powered by ac adapter, and power-on button has LED light. 

It is difficult to diagnose why the laptop screen is black. It is possible to connect another PC to the laptop and this can then be used to diagnose and maybe fix the m17 R4 screen Issue. Solved: How to connect two laptops? - Dell Community

I tried everything, nothing worked I have 30 years computer exp and I think it's something with hardware.

So I called tech-support from Dell and the guy said is your cap lock light coming on or off is it working caps lock, And I was amazed that he was pretty trained and you exactly what’s going on it’s almost like Dell knows about this problem, and because there’s a laptop is out of warranty and I paid $3000 at the retail shop, but this laptop cost was close to 4500$ with the specs, The warranty is still expired and I don’t care I just really would know how much cash do I have to pour out or throw out to Dell for this new piece of machine, I mean this is not for 86 from 1980s this is pretty much brand new computer always used external Lg 4K tv To game on this laptop, always used extra cooling Used an external battery back up so it wasn’t  a  power issue, Looks like the tech guy on the other side said it might be the motherboard but because the RAM is welded to the motherboard and it’s 32 gigs of RAM I have no idea how expensive this repair will be by Dell will quote me a price tomorrow and I will keep this post alive until this is resolved, I have no idea what will it cost me for a new motherboard and a 32 gigs of RAM so buying this laptop without the warranty or the way it’s built from Dell people watch out you will become an alien yourself. 

it feels like I’m an alien spending of this kind of money on a laptop sorry man your warranty is expired.

This m17 R4 was originally purchased from Dell on April 14, 2021. It was reported to Dell by the buyer that it was "lost in transit" by the carrier? As to how the retail store acquired it, Dell has no information.

I had no  idea, Chris M I will be going back to the store and asking what is going on because I payed 3000$ to them and have no idea how they got it but now that it’s a warranty problem I need to deal with them and they should of check this how they got it.

 Thank you for your help Chris I had no idea that this laptop is lost and the store sold it to me I’m going to the store right now I still have the sticker on the power supply I will let you know are they gonna take it back and send it back to you guys I’m not sure what’s going to happen but I paid 3000$ to the store. I used credit card so it’s been 6 months or so.

I need to press FM button and then the power button so it worked for the next six months it was sitting useless bios dell bios now. TOS76>. Dell said there was some critical bios updates and it only worked one day until it froze in the middle of bios update, Dell bios is like a virus, if I ever fix this laptop I will never updated with Dell support because they make and push out viruses more  they fix things. I didn't even know what there is thousands of people have problems with freezing bios with Dell and they have to replace their motherboards what a nightmare.

I need a new service tag

So anyway I went back to the store they don't want the laptop dell doesn't want this laptop, so I'm stuck with it, so it's been sitting unused for about six months. And today I turned it back on and I used FN button and power button and it turned on and worked and I was able to use it for one day until the stupid dell support said I need Bios update messed it up again, Dell really is a really really messy product I have no idea why I bought this laptop Dell keeps pushing these laptops out the door with serious and major problems, bios freezes and I can't even reset the thing but I was able to get this laptop working by using the FN button for one day I was able to go back to Windows and it worked for one day, I need to send this to Dell they need to fix this.

And I don't care if it's lost in transit I have it I paid for it 3000 Dell needs to accept us so is the store I need a new Service tag.

Chris What should with this Dell support is kind of useless, I need to send this laptop you guys need to mess with it fix the bios it's not the hardware it's the software the problem looks I was able to run a diagnostic yesterday and after the bios upgrade same problem.

The engineers that create these bios and Dell messed this machine again up bios freeze people have problems I will never ever buy another Alienware what a nightmare. Basically dell bios critical updates is like a virus huge problems.
