Hi @Silverblack  welcome to this user to user discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.

If your system has the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 16GB GDDR6 it must be a (2021) Alienware m17 R4 gaming laptop.

Dell Support for Alienware m17 R4 Storage slots says it has One M.2 2230 and Two M.2 2280, for PCIe Gen3.0 x4 NVMe cards. A 1TB or 2TB ultrafast M.2 2280 NVMe card is recommended for the OS(C:) drive, such as the Samsung 980 NVMe 1TB M.2 internal SSD (MZ-V8V1T0BW) with PCIe Gen3.0 x4 read/write speeds of up to 3,500/3,000 Mbps. The 1TB and 2TB NVMe cards usually offer the best read/write speeds. Use the internet to get the best price complete with the option of free cloning application with cloning instructions.

As part of your disaster Recovery Plan, create a standby NVMe OS(C) drive. If the NVMe OS(C) drive becomes unrecoverable, swap in the standby NVMe OS(C) drive to get up and running in minutes.
