I have the exact same laptop configuration and tv. There is a YouTube video that explains verbatim every setting you must enable on the nvidia control panel and tv. I can tell you it’s extremely tricky and literally took me over 3 hours to figure out. Also, LG is constantly releasing FW updates due to all the issues with gsync but it does work and can be glitchy. can’t remember the video but YouTube search “LG CX settings GSync”.
Trying to decide between the 306hz 1080p panel and the UHD like you have. I don't play eSports or games that require huge refresh. I play slower paced games, but don't know if the 60Hz UHD will run nice enough for me. Any input on the machine you have as it almost like the one I would get?
What I recommend is getting a 1440p 120Hz screen because 4k is usually made for creative editors or TV's but I recommend getting the 1440p screen since its between 4K and 1080p plus since the screen sizes are usually 24in to 32in it should be sharp enough.

I got it working.
It seems like the issue was using HDMI port 1. When I switched to HDMI 2 and took the steps shown on the video, it worked.
