m18 R1, Dell not sending new 330W power adapters?
Alienware m18 R1
Just seeing what other people are getting. All of the reviews I have either read or watched are getting the Alienware branded slim 330W AC adapters. I got mine and it has the old big 330W adapter.
Anyone else getting this? These computers are not cheap.

If you bought new from Dell, then the AC adapter is new. popcan shipped with 1MDV8.

Hi @popcan welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.
Charging from empty to full takes around 2 hours with the included barrel Alienware AC Adapter. USB-C chargers are not supported which is a shame because it means you're tethered to the ginormous Alienware 330W AC Adapter wherever you go.

The OEM Genuine DELL Alienware 330W GaN Charger AC Adapter can be purchased online from Amazon, eBay, etc.
Hi @DELL-Chris M please look at internal to Dell catalogue and share the DP/N of the 330W GaN Charger AC Adapter that can be used by the Alienware m18 R1. Thank you.

Thank you for that link! I did some digging and I think I found the answer to my question.
Most of the reviews I have been seeing with the new charger are from the UK. But all of the units that have been shipped to the US have the old large 10+ year old 330w adapter. That kinda ticks me off… the base price for a m18 is 2k and easily jumps up to 3-4k. They can’t even give the US owners the more compact charger but instead want to charge an extra $200 just because you live in the US, Crazy.
Every other 18in laptop with a 4090 has a slimmer ac adapter.

There are more reviews out there with the new adapter but I gave up after I realized what was going on.
