x14 R1, cannot turn on in battery mode

Question

Hi everyone,

I'm about to return my new X14 R1 but before I do I want to make sure I'm taking the right decision.

The problem is if I unplug the USB-C power supply, close the lid and be away for like 30 minutes, it's impossible to turn it back ON without plugging it back to the supply again.

Is it normal for an Alienware Laptop? Anything to change in settings? Please let me know it's my first Alienware and I'm honestly already thinking to replace it with other brand,

Within the first 30 days there is option to Reject Alienware x 14 (R1) that was delivered with faults. Dell Refund policy, New vs Refurbished - Dell Community Please go to your online Dell account and create Service Request to 'book' your Reject option asap.

Please create windows Battery Report to determine if it is unserviceable. How to Get Your Windows 11 Battery Report (lifewire.com) The Dell Battery warranty is only valid within the first year. If battery is missing, or unserviceable, Dell Battery warranty will provide new battery.

Hi @Alien78 have you tried Drain residual flea power (perform hard reset)?  Just disconnect battery, there is no requirement to remove the battery.
