There are build issues with Alienware x15 R1 & x17 R1 laptops when closing then reopening the lid, gives cable connection problems. Solved: x15 R1, keyboard issues - Dell Community

You are within the first 30 days Approval timescale, Reject this laptop: Dell Refund policy, New vs Refurbished. Open your Dell account to ask Dell Support to create a Service Request for you. Say you want to Reject laptop because it has a fault. Be clear to state your remedy: request new replacement laptop or a full refund.

You need to contact dell immediately so you can return the machine and get a new one. It’s still in the warranty so you’re lucky. I really hope this helps and you’ll be able to get back to work.
