Hi @Lionp27 welcome to this free user to user Alienware laptop discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.

Visited Alienware x17 R2 Gaming Laptop | Dell USA and the purchase options you wanted are available. Please see following image of your purchase options. If these are not available to you, perhaps it is your location that locks these purchase options out.

There probably isn't a single answer to the question.  The drive and memory can be upgraded by the user post-purchase, so they're not issues.

Whether or not the mechanical keyboard can be fitted to the i9 system may depend on whether the heatsink  assembly is larger than it is on the i7 systems -- if it is, it may preclude offering a physically larger mechanical keyboard.

I would think twice before opting for an i9 in any notebook system -- these have a tendency to heat up more than i7s do, and throttle to the point where the i9 is actually slower overall than the i7.  I would also re-think RAID 0, which doubles your chance of losing data to drive failure without providing much, if any performance improvement over single drive operation.

Hi ejn63 and crimsom, thank you for your reply's and information.

i checked the USA store and indeed the options are available, so it is a region lock for those options (i live in the Netherlands). So thanks for pointing this out.

And ejn63 you gave me great advice with the configuration, i didn't even think about the possible throttling because of the heat buildup. seems i need to rethink my priorities/config with that in mind

This is exactly why i came to the community, great tips and feedback that i missed from Dell support itself.

Many thanks and kind regards.
