Hello, I think you should wait for a confirmation concerning the X17, but on my M15R5 all external ports (HDMI/USBC with DisplayPort) are connected to the NVIDIA graphic card, only the laptop's screen can use the integrated graphics.
I do know after extensive use on an M17 R3 with the 2070 RTX built in you can go to your device manager/view/show hidden then go to video adapters and select the Nvidia as primary or the intel graphics you can also disable the intel and use the NVidia as primary! But like mentioned above external ports should go to the Nvidia first.
I'm working on the same machine with the same config and i can confirm that the Oculus quest is working via the Link cable.
I'm using it for Revit, Enscape and Twinmotion. The HDMI, Mini displayport and USB-C displayport are wired on the Nvidia GPU. The Thunderbolt is wired to the iGPU
There are a few steps u need to follow to get it working.

Hi Jaypeedub,
I'm working on the same machine with the same config and i can confirm that the Oculus quest is working via the Link cable.
I'm using it for Revit, Enscape and Twinmotion. The HDMI, Mini displayport and USB-C displayport are wired on the Nvidia GPU. The Thunderbolt is wired to the iGPU
There are a few steps u need to follow to get it working.
In Nvidia control panel u need to switch the GPU to Nvidia GPU only.
and apply these settings: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000186935/virtual-reality-vr-games-may-fail-to-run-on-alienware-aurora-r12-and-precision-3650-tower-with-intel-11th-generation-cpu
i still need to test if the Oculus Rift 2 is working on the HDMI, when i have a dongle for all the USB connections.
Hope this helps
Kind regards,
Étienne
