Hi @nick012 welcome to this free user to user Alienware laptop discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.

Alienware x17 R2 battery health is fully optimised by telling laptop charging circuit that system is usually used on ac adapter power. Dell's intelligent charging circuit ensures that laptop is not damaged. Generally, keep ac adapter plugged in, when laptop is not mobile. During the course, if power available and ac adapter not too heavy, keep ac adapter plugged in. If ac adapter heavy, get second ac adapter to keep at course venue.

Hi @nick012 ! I hope you're having an amazing day and I'm going to help answer your question!

I myself have figured this out 2 years ago. I was replacing my Alienware 15 R2 laptop and I noticed that after buying the laptop used after 6 years made the capacity go down to 87% which means it needs to be replaced but that was after an aggressive use case on a laptop with a higher wattage power supply connected to it.

TL:DR Your laptop is way newer than mines and technology has improved since then, and your laptop battery is designed differently than mines from that long ago so any issues like battery capacity dropping are a long amount of time ahead after you've used the laptop.
