Avamar plugin for vSphere web client

Hi,

is the plugin for the vSphere web client only available with a Avamar Virtual Edition or is it possible to use it with a Grid or single node server too?

As we have some installations with Avamar Single Node and Data Domain it would be great if this would altough work with the plugin.

I ask this becaue when I have a look in the "AV 7.3 Plugin for vSphere Web Client " user guide i read this:

But when I log in to the vSphere web client I see this:

It is available for single node and multi node systems, The system name won't appear under "Avamar Virtual Edition" drop down, you have to manually enter the name in the text box of "Avamar Data Store" and then click connect.

Hello Amol,

thanks.

Any idea how to install the plugin when using a single node server.

As I understood when using a AVE the plugin in vSphere is istalled by the AVE, what about using a single node?

I tried running ebrserver.pl script on the single node, but this only enabled the File-Level-Restore function, but not the web client plugin.

When you run ebrserver.pl it will automatically detect the vCenter attach to your single node server and register the plugin, You can check the MOB to confirm if plugin was register.

Point you browser to https:// /mob

Login with the admin credential

Click on ServiceContent->ExtentionManager

In the extention list it should show you "com.vmware.ebr2"

You can also check the following log on Single node system to find out what happened

/usr/local/avamar/var/ebr/server_log/ebr-server.log

Plugin will only be visible to Administrator, so login as vSphere admin into vSphere web client.

If for some reason the plugin is still not visible you need to check virgo logs on vSphere web client.

hello hope you can help. I see the plugin in vsphere, but when attempting to connect to my Avamar DS I receive a message:

the EBR appliance is not responding, please try your request again,

or start the services using Avamar server

I have validated (restarted ) the ebrserver in Avamar
