Backing up Symantec EV 8.0.5 With Avamar & Remove VSS

Hi Guys,

We have a Symantec Enterprise Vault 8.0 for Exchange Server.

When i try and back this up it seems to be using VSS thus it is not resetting the Archive Bit and telling Vault that it has been backed up.

Please see error below.

How can i stop snapshots from running on this data set and allow the backup solution to do a archive bit reset on backup. Or have i got this totally wrong and should be using some other method.

Thansk Guys in advance.

Scotty.

In the dataset you can set Freeze method to none. Or, you can reset the archive bit by setting this special attribute in the dataset –resetarchive=

That’s dash dash resetarchive equal sign with nothing after that.

AJ,

Thanks for the reply.

When tyou say enter this special attribute. Do i add it to the "More" tab and then in "Enter Attribute" or in "Enter Attribute Value"

–resetarchive=

That’s dash dash resetarchive equal sign with nothing after that.

HI AJ,

Thanks for the advise but it seems that the --resetarchive= does not work. I get an error when the job runs with this saying it is an invalid option.
