Networker with Avamar integrated Backup Failure
Hi Guys,
I have Networker with Avamar integrated. Both Networker server & windows client running NW 7.5.2. The OS on both is w2k3 SP2 (32bit)
I am getting a backup failure with the following error message:
57803:save: Saving with De-Duplication enabled
61850:save:De-dup node resource not found for limbuads200a.lim.emea.dell.com
39077:save: error, AVCTL initialization failed
5195:save: save failed on \\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy301\$WINNT.LOG
There is no dedup log file created on the windows client. Nor is there hash cache data in the C:\Program Files\Legato\nsr\dedup\cache directory.
When I run a backup, nsravtar is not running on the client, the save process is running alright.
Anyone have any ideas on possible causes?
Tks,
Liam

Hi,
You install Avamar Agent Client in Client Machine?
You install Networker Storage-Node Agent in the Avamar Utility Node?

Hi Hormigo
Yes I have installed both the Networker and the Avamar client on the client machine and I have installed Networker client on the Avamar Utility Node.
I don't think you need the storage node agent.
I have also run a backup of the client machine from the ADS itself which finished successfully and I have successfully backed up other clients using networker with the ADS backend.
I'm stumped I must admit.

This thread is from 2010 and the last reply is from 2013. NetWorker / Avamar integration (where NetWorker uses Avamar as a de-dupe storage node) has been deprecated for years. Perhaps you have this solution confused with something more modern? In any case, trying to configure Avamar as a NetWorker de-dupe node in this day and age is going to end badly.
