Data and 2 SPS failure
Hello !
Our CX4-480 is running with only 1 SPS, the other one is bad and is going to be replaced.
My question is this : if the second SPS fails, what will happen ?
Thank you for your answer.

Both the Storage Processor will be powered down and there will be a Data Unavailability.

Like AnkitM said: I wouldn't leave this 480 like this. Replace the SPS as soon as possible to maintain your uptime

As everyone agrees, don't wait; however, I simply wanted to mention that it really depends on the nature of the SPS "failure". If the failure results in loss of AC pass-through, then yes it will power-down as already noted. If the failure is simply confined to the battery itself (and still allows AC pass-through), then it *may* stay online.

Thank you all for your answers,
The SPS has been changed but it still remain a yellow led in front, according the SPcollects sent to the Support,
I just need to reboot the corresponding SP to clear the fault.
The array is a CX4-480, how to go abt it and which precaution should I take for such a reboot in a production environment.
Thanks

To reboot SP, select SP in Unisphere and select Reboot.

As you mentioned you have opened the Service Request already for this issue.
Can you please, PM me the Service Request number?

Hello,
My colleague got the answer from EMC, Thanks.
This is the answer in freench :
Pour faire le reboot, il suffit d'aller dans navisphère, de faire l'expand du clarion pour voir tous les éléments et de sélectionner le SP A, faire click droit avec la souris et la tu sélectionnes 'reboot'
Il faut être prudent et s'assurer que le client a les hosts configurés correctement car durant le reboot, SP A va devenir indisponible. Il faut donc que les hosts aient un double attachement et un soft de failover.
