Do I need to install EMC powerpath agent/client

If I want a windows server to use storage on EMC SANS , I need to install powerpath agent, right?

What is the current new version?

In addition to PowerPath or Microsoft MPIO you should also install the Unisphere Agent. It will register the host in Unisphere for you once you do your zoning. You might also want to install NaviSecCLI but that's only required if you plan on running scripts from that host. Definitely install the Unisphere Agent though.

5.7 SP1 is the latest version and it is supported. So go with that. All servers that are connecting to the VNX 5500 need to have PowerPath installed as well as Unisphere Agent.

I recall someone told me only need to install EMC power path version 5.7.

How about for the new version EMC SANs VNX 5500? Do I need to install both on Windows Server 2008 R2?

I meant how to configure or select array in EMC vnx5500. It is automatically select array 1 /0 or 1?
