Fault drive after Hot Spare move- how to revert
Hello,
I would have to questions regarding Hotspares ( Clarion CX3-20, flare 26 ):
1) I noticed that it is not only enough to define Global Hotspare RAID group but as well there should be LUN bound on it . Without that empty LUN hot sparing did not work for me. Is LUN binding required for Hot Spare RAID group to work in your configurations? ( in Navisphere manual it is said that no LUN is required to be bind to Hot Spare RAID group )
2) After manual ( for test purposes ) proactive hotspare copy, the orginal disk went to Faulty and then to Empty status. How can I recover that situation to unflag this drive and get to normal work ( drive is ok )

1. You do need a bound LUN on the Hot Spare Raid Group. I'll review the manual wording.
2. Flare has faulted the drive after copying the data to a Hot Spare. Now you need to physically remove it and reinsert it. Flare will then bring the drive back on line and copy the data back. There should be a Needs Attention Alert in R26 instructing you to do this.
