Recover Domain impact on Block Environment
Hello all!
I'm working with a 3rd-party support vendor to rebuild the File side of a Unified VNX 5400. The rebuild went fine, but now in Unisphere we're getting "split-brain" behavior: Signing into the Primary control station shows all Block options greyed out. Same with Signing into an SP directly - All File options greyed out. We were looking into running the "Recover Domain" option from the Domain Master's /setup page, but I'm concerned about what it will do to the Production Block environment. I don't want users/hosts to lose connectivity to their LUNs.
We just need to clear out the old File environment data and re-add the newly built File environment.
Is running the Recover Domain option on the /setup page the best way to go?
Thanks in advance!

Hello BeatleManiac,
Here is a link to a kb that maybe of assistance. https://dell.to/3fsaZ34
You can use the Recover domain option and it will not affect the host on the system.

Thanks for the reply!
We were able to test this on the support vendor's test vnx system and confirmed that was the correct course of action. Unisphere is now behaving normally.
