where is LUN Folders option?
Hi All,
we have Celerra NX4 Storage. In that i created many LUNs. But, I need to segregate LUNs Folder wise. for example need to create a folder "SERVER1" and move the LUNs which was attached to Server1. In my Navisphere Manager LUN Folders option is missing. what i need to do?

I believe this feature is FLARE dependent and introduced from FLARE 24 onwards.
I checked with your configuration i.e. AX4-5 with Navisphere Manager version: 6.28.0.4.32 (Test Array) I was unable to create the Folders.
However, I was able to see the folders in Navisphere Manager version: 6.28.0.4.51 with CX4 FLARE 28.
General Information: (for future views consideration)
The folders feature allows you to organize your storage system LUNs for optimum usability and efficiency. You can create folders and then place LUNs, metaLUNs, and snapshots in the folder. Once you define folders and assign LUNs to them, the LUNs are organized within the folders and displayed in the Storage tree under the Folders node. The LUNs are no longer displayed under the SP A and SP B nodes in the tree.
Note:The Folders node includes two system-defined folders - SP A and SP B. Each folder includes all LUNs assigned to it when the LUN was bound.
Creating a LUNs folder
1 In the Enterprise Storage dialog box, right-click the LUN Folders icon, and then click Create Folder.
2 In Folder Name, enter a name for the new folder.
3 Click OK to save the changes and close the dialog box.

No you cannot move to FLARE 24 or later , coz the latest one for an AX is release 23.

Yes you can upgrade the FLARE Patch to 02.23.050.5.711 which is the latest patch for AX4. However, that will not enable you to Create Folders as I reckon its been introduced from FLARE 24 and onwards.

To add to Ankit's note, there is a new flare (711) for AX4 that we strongly recommend that all AX4 arrays be updated to. This last release fixes a lot of issues and makes the AX4 more stable.

It seems the release notes for Patch .710 is archieved. However, In general, there would be certain known issues and bug fixes which occurred in the earlier patches!

The release notes for each release also contain the prior version release notes, so patch 710 is included after the 711 fixes.
