Auditing File Systems

Hi all!

In a client, we have a NS480 with several file systems exported using CIFS. The client wants to audit the property changes of files and directories and the permissions changes. We install the MMC snap-in to audit the system, but there is no option to audit the properties that the client needs (or we don't know how to use it right).

There is any way to add new policys to the MMC snap-in?

Greatings and thanks!

Gui.

first you enable auditing on the datamover using the MMC and then you need to enable auditing on the directory itself using Windows Explorer.

if you want to generate automated auditing reports. Install CAVA - EMC product ( this streams the CIFS events generated to a  3rd party application application ) and look at something like varonis data advantage.

No Events found!
