undelete filesystem

Customer did a nas_fs -delete fs1 but should have been fs2, oops.

Is there an option to undelete a uxfs filesystem on the Celerra.

John

Already told our customer that they should prepare themselves for a restore from last night backup.

Just opening a case to see if there is a way to undelete a fs.

As per my understanding the only option is to restore from backup. I don't think there is any way to un-delete a file system, if you have used nas_fs to delete it.

Anyway, I 'll prefer to contact NAS Support before making a final call.

I am also eagerly waiting to see any other reply on this thread - if there is any other way to handle this.

Thanks,
Sandip

no easy way.

Now I assume if your data is very valuable and after deleting the fs you didnt do any changes (added or extended file systems or savvols) you could get help by paying for extra recovery.

AFAIK undeleting a file system doesnt erase it - but if the config where on disk that file system actually was got lost it isnt easy work to reconstruct it.

Sorry to hear that - although it justifies my understanding. Thanks for the confirmation.

Have a great day.
