Retrieving files from Centera
Hi all,
A hypothetical question for you:
We will be using EMC's DXNAS software to migrate files from Celerra to Centera. As I understand it, migrated files are shown as 'stub' files. How would I recall/retrieve files from the Centera if the stub file is deleted and hasn't been backed up? How would I identify the file required given the storage format on the Centera.
Any help gratefully appreciated.
Many thanks.

Welcome to the Centera forum.
The recommended practice is to back up your Celerra filesystems containing the stub files. These stub files are quite small; backing them up will take significantly less time than backup of the filesystem prior to the archiving operation.
If the stub file backups are unavailable, a case can be opened with EMC support to locate the archived data directly within the Centera for restore to the Celerra.
