And this description of mine of the Dell Advantage Rewards program may also help:
After signing up to the Dell Advantage Rewards program you have to first add items to your cart, and then while viewing the cart click "claim advantage rewards" before checking out. When you click "claim advantage rewards" button you should see a new 10¢ item appear in your shopping cart as well as a 10¢ deduction applied to your other item. Also, during checkout you should see free two day shipping offered. If you did not see the 10¢ item in your cart or the free two day shipping then you didn't "claim your rewards" and dell will probably tell you to pound sand (per the FAQ).
if you did "claim your rewards" then in 10-20 days after the SHIP date of your order you should receive an gift code via email that is 5% of your order (10% if you purchased with a dell credit card).
foolish me I was following the links available before you purchase which do a good job of directing you to apply for credit, had no idea there was a separate button under your account that you had to press. So if you apply for credit, get approved, and purchase your out of luck.
Dang right I reject that as an answer if I’m on Dell’s site to make a purchase I’m not going to go browsing the faq to verify that the links which advertizes 10% rewards actually links to what I need to get the reward.I’m going to follow the link do what is says and expect to get the dammed reward that was advertized when I purchase.I’d like a response from the moderator who decided to mark the post of a fellow victim of false advertisement as an answer.
Simply log in to your Dell Advantage-enabled “My Account” prior to checkout and select 2nd business day shipping* to receive your free shipping benefits. Logging in also ensures you receive your Dell rewards in the form of a Dell promotional reward code, sent via email.
You will typically receive your Dell promotional reward code in an e-mail within 10-20 days of ship date which carries an expiration date of 90 days from date of issuance. You cannot use your Dell promotional reward code until after you receive it via email.
Don’t forget to check your spam/junk folders for the Dell promotional reward code receipt (sent from dellgiftcards@cashstar.com)!
Please observer the second post in this thread, my post, that clearly describes the process required to qualify for the Dell Rewards Advantage 'cash back.'
It sounds like you did not do as described. Dell clearly has designed a reward program intended to entice you but deliberately confusing and difficult to actually qualify for the benefits.
You can huff and puff all you want but they are horribly strict about it and all that actually is in your power to do is return your purchase before it is too late and re-order following the clear instructions that I provided.
I have other suggestions on the two effective ways to contact Dell management, but since you are so completely unappreciative of my assistance so far, rather than just telling you I will leave it to you to search other threads to learn how to escalate this issue yourself. You are not going to find satisfaction in the community forum. Just look at how many other complaints here are about Dell Advantage Rewards, none of which appear to ever get resolved.
Not unappreciative of you but agitated at them. Thank you for taking time to post.
But it is what it is, I was going to buy an Alien gaming laptop for my son from them but went with an MSI. Actually I should be thankful to them their lack of response and poorly designed site prompted me to do research and the MSI Apaches are higher rated, cheaper, and have more features (DVD drives, larger higher resolution screens, and more ram). Also you can get them a lot sooner, I have amazon prime so I'll get free two day shipping (without having to wait for it to go through production).
First you have to go under your account and click an Advantage Awards button there to activate then as far as I know it will show up, you may have to empty your cart and re select your items if you didn’t make a separate trip into your account profile to click the button. I only followed the on screen links not knowing about the account thing and completed my purchase now I’m just out of luck.

A fellow abused Dell customer here sharing my experiences with you in an effort to help...
This link should answer your questions:

Why can I not find the claim button in the cart? Where is it?
The advantage shipping shows up. Slightly confused.

I do that but I don't see a claim button or 10cent charge show up.
