DELL-Cares virtual assistant bot explained
The DELL-Cares "virtual assistant" bot is tasked with ascertaining warranty via the Service Tag number.
- The Service Tag number and other private customer data (Order number, Customer number, Purchase ID, etc.) discussion is always in private message. In public would the non-private hardware and software troubleshooting.
- If in warranty, the case is then assigned to an actual agent posting under the same DELL-Cares account.
- If out of warranty, the message will state this, provide a link to the Dell out of warranty service offerings. At this point the users on the Forum would need to assist in troubleshooting.
Forum users with elevated role (Rockstar) are exempt from having the DELL-Cares virtual assistant bot asking them for the Service Tag number. This is because Rockstar reply to other users with troubleshooting.
Normal user role are not exempt from this policy of ascertaining warranty via the Service Tag number. The only workaround you can do is open your Forum Preferences- Preference Options- Private Messenger. Then turn off private messages and email notifications.
