Using Dell Rewards + Gift Card Phone Order

Question

I am able to use up to three different payment methods online using any combination of rewards, gift cards, and credit cards while online ordering from Dell.com. However I had an issue early today trying to use my Dell rewards and a Dell gift card with a phone order. I was emphatically told this was not possible, the system did not allow it. The agent over the phone also confirmed with his supervisor that this was the case and added that any attempt on trying to use dell rewards with a gift card will have a high chance of cancellation. I was simply dumbfounded by this since there is no issue doing this online and I don't see anything in the gift card or reward terms that say they can't be combined. I proceeded to then confirm this with a chat agent and they said the same thing. They told me they have very limited tools and they can only use one or the other. There is no work around and there is nothing they can do. If I wanted to use them together I would have to order online myself. The only reason I was ordering by phone was because I was getting a price match. Is there any way to get a price match and use my Dell rewards and gift card together?

4 years later and I am experiencing this same problem.  They have outsourced all their support overseas and nobody knows how to fix this.  I've been screwing around on the phone/chat for close to an hour just to buy something from them.  Waste of my time.
