m15 R7, Amazon, Dell warranty?
I just bought an Alienware laptop from Amazon. The laptop is an Alienware m15 R7. The laptop model is available in Romania where I live but the exact configuration for it does not. Is the warranty still viable in that case?

You can only transfer the warranty if you upgrade it (at extra cost) to an onsite service plan, and only if the model in question is sold in Romania. Since all service and support in that part of the world is through independent dealers, not Dell directly, you would also need to find a dealer willing to service a system it did not sell -- that part may be the most difficult.
Translation: any warranty work is very likely going to necessitate returning the system to the US. Be sure you register the system with Dell so the warranty is in your name.

alien_ware19,
First, all of your questions are warranty and ownership based. So the thread belongs on this Customer Care board. The Alienware Laptops board is for hardware and software discussion.
Second, the m15 R7 original warranty is based in Romania.
Third, due to the private information I will be disclosing, I will send you a private message.

Probably not, particularly if it has a different CPU or GPU -- repair parts won't be available.
While you can try transferring the warranty, be advised that requires onsite service -- the basic 12 month warranty doesn't transfer internationally.

I have just bought an Alienware m15 R7 product from Amazon. I think that it comes with the 1 year premium support warranty. Can I use the warranty in Romania where I live? Is the warranty available from the time I register the product on Dell's website or at the time of the order?

You'll need to transfer ownership to Romania -- then contact for warranty availability (Pro Support Plus tends to be a US-only option, so it may or may not be available outside the US).

International warranty transfer

Since you created an entirely different thread with the same question area, why did you not ask when you asked about the warranty?

I thought that every Alienware product comes with one year of premium support warranty, there is not such a thing as basic warranty for this lineup. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi @alien_ware19 thank you for sharing update.
New Dell systems can be purchased without any Dell warranty.
Dell systems purchased with Dell warranty, usually get first year Basic Dell warranty.
Some Dell systems can be purchased with two year Basic or extended Dell warranty.
There are many variations on what can be locally purchased.
Hence the basic question about what was purchased.

The warranty that ships with the system applies only in the country of initial purchase. That's what you're not accepting. Once you move the system to another country, the system must be registered in your name. Then, if the system in question is sold in the new country, AND you have purchased an onsite service plan, you can apply for an international warranty transfer, again IF Dell support is available (it is not in much of Eastern Europe, where all support is usually handled through independent dealers).
You're looking at a US sold system (presumably) with US warranty terms, which do not apply in your case.

You need to register the system and then transfer the ownership to your new location. Doing the former does not automatically accomplish the latter.
