DD2500 Service Port

Hi, everyone,

I am going to implement DD2500, but I am not sure what Service Port on the back panel of DD2500 is used for. Anyone knows?

Your help would be appreciate in advance.

Does it say Service Port?  While I do not have that model, I do not remember seeing anything on my DDs named that way. Two things on that model that you may use apart from standard connections would be IPMI and SOL - I wonder if you are referring to later one.

Maybe you're looking for the service network port? See attached picture:

The network service port is for IPMI management. Also known as a BMC port.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I mean service network port. As you mention, I understand it that is used for IPMI. Thanks.

Hi,

May I know if DD2500 have 10GbE-T card? I know that there is onboard 2 x port. But is there a add-on card?

Thanks!

Check manual (search support for document titled "Installation and Setup Guide" for 2500 system.  Following picture gives the hint too (which Peter already shared previously):

You have 3 slots and how you use depends on your model.

Hi Hrvoje,

I saw from the manual, but as it only mentions for the slots Ethernet, I am not sure if it meant 1G only or 10G for the add-on card. Thought of asking here to see if anyone has implemented 10G cards

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

I am sure that DD2500 has the following onboard NICs on a motherboard, but please let me correct if I make a mistake.

- 10GbE-T card x 2

- 1GbE-T card x 4

Thanks a lot.

Hi t-mat,

Yes, it does, what I am looking for is the expansion slots. I am intending to add more ports to the DD.

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

you can add three additional IO Modules for FC or Ethernet in Slot 0 to Slot 2

If using mixed then first add Ethernet IO modules before FC. If you add only Ethernet start at Slot 0.
