Hello,
I occasionally get the following generic alerts from our m1000e chassis (we have 44 of them).
Is there a way to get the alerts to be more specific in what is wrong?
Thx
John Bradshaw

Hi John,
Thanks for the query.
You will have to enable the SNMP alerts on the chassis, similar to our discussion about servers on below thread.

Hi,
When a Test SNMP alert is sent to the IP of the OME server, where will I see that alert in OME when it arrives? Should it just be on the Home Page, under Alerts/Normal?
Do I need SNMP configured on the OME server?
Thx,
JB

You need to have Windows SNMP Trap service configured and running on OME server, before you start with OME, to receive any SNMP traps.
Traps will show up on home portal, and, with device details in Devices portal, and, in Alerts page under Manage section.

Thx Shivendra.
With the SNMP Trap service there is not a lot to configure. I gather that it just needs to be running. Is that correct?

Yes, on OME server it has to be running with local account. On target chassis you need to configure SNMP traps to reach OME.
