Multiple OME servers and a single SQL cluster
Hi,
Can someone please tell me if it is possible for two OME servers to utilize the same SQL cluster?
The reason I ask is because we have too many physical devices for a single OME server to support and don't want to run an unsupported configuration. So, we need to deploy 2x OME servers but would like both of them to use the same SQL cluster.
When installing the first OME instance I recall needing to provide SQL credentials for the database to be created at install. Is there any way I can install the second OME server and make sure it creates and uses a different DB on the same SQL cluster?
Version of OME is 1.0.1.
Thanks,
reestr

Thanks for the swift reply.
To help you prioritise feature requests - A better feature would be for OME servers to federate so those of us with more then 2000 hardware devices to support didn't have to deploy and manage isolated instances :-)
Hope to see improvements such as these in future releases.

Hi and thanks for posting.
At this time, neither OME 1.0.1 or OME 1.1 support this feature.
We have it as an item under consideration for the next release of OME that is just getting started.
The only other way to work around this would be to put one of the instances on a local SQL install, though your company policies may or may not support this approach. And it obviously doesn't get the cluster benefits you are seeking.
Thanks,
Rob
