OMSA for RHEL
Hi,
I've been asked for the OMSA install files for servers with the following OS:
RHEL4 64bit (PE2950)
RHEL4 32bit (PE1855 blade)
RHEL5 64bit (PE2950)
RHEL6 64Bit (M620, R710, R820)
Any idea where I can find the right OMSA for these?
Also, will installing OMSA require a reboot or interfere with anything currently running on the servers? These are all in production as app or database servers.
Finally, what SNMP settings do we need for these servers to communicate properly with OME? I'm trying to get them into the database and inventoried so I can update their firmware/drivers using OME.

Hi there,
If you can, go ahead and cross post in the General Sys Mgt forum where the OMSA guys hang out.

You might find the support matrix on that site.
For the OME part of the question..
OME will discover a Windows server that has OMSA installed via SNMP or WMI.
OME will discover a Linux server installed via SNMP.
So check the First Time Setup Tutorial in the tutorial section of the OME console. It will go over some of these settings. Also the video and I think whitepapers on delltechcenter.com/ome will list some of the SNMP settings you need. Basically you need to enable SNMP traffic on the Linux server in the snmp.conf. And you need to direct SNMP traps/alerts to the IP address of the OME server.
