Linux ISO Boot - stop at 38/106 updates - LifeCycle Controller

Hi guys, I'm trying to update an R310, I've created a bootable Linux ISO with latest DRM and latest DUP, but the update process stop at 38 out of 106 packages with message: "apply_bundles.sh execution is completed, press enter to reboot"

A couple of firmware has been updated (SAS disk and NIC), but BIOS, SAS Controller other firmware remain at old version

I've updated the iDRAC before running the bootable ISO

Please find attached a couple of pictures

Hi,

While we analyze the issue, for time being you may please try deleting the problematic components/DUPs from the repository and create a bootable iso with that.

Also, sometimes there may be a possibility of iDRAC getting reset while trying to update from virtual media. So, if possible can you please try burning the bootable iso on a CD/DVD and then try to update?

Thanks,

Sashi.

Hi, I've also updated some R610 and a T610 and they all get stuck at the LifeCycle Controller, sometimes after 40 updates, sometime after 50 updates

I've noticed that the LifeCycle firmware version on the bootable ISO is quite old, version 1.5.5, while from Dell Websites is available version 1.6.5

Good catch the idea to burn a DVD, because iDRAC get reset updating the LifeCycle Controller on those old R310 - R610 - T610 systems, but on a subsequent run of the bootable ISO the issue persist

Cheers

Marco

Quick update: on a T610 system the bootable ISO go much better, up to 90-100 updates out of 120. The iDRAC get reset updating the LifeCycle Controller (version 1.6.5, the latest) but the whole update experience is much better than on R310 and R610 systems

Hi,

Are you trying with the "Force scripts to update regardless of version or date" option checked?

If yes, can you please uncheck that option and try updating and see if it updates without any issue?

Thanks,

Sashi
