1.9 vs 2.0 GHz CPU
Dear Dell lovers with Dimension 8200 with 2.0 GHz CPU,
I need your help as I am trying to decide between the 1.9 and 2.0 GHz Pentium 4 CPU for a Dimension 8200. I read at Intel's website that the "new" 2.0 and 2.2 GHz P4 processors have 512 KB L2 cache. It is unclear to me whether the 2 Gig processor in a Dell 8200 is Intel's "new" P4.
Like anyone else, I'm trying to be a smart shopper and learn about what I am buying before I buy it. Although there appears to be little difference between the clock speed of these 2 CPU's, there is a drastic price difference.
Please can some one who recently received their new Dimension 8200 with a 2GHz CPU please check the L2 cache for me?
According to Technical Specifications at Dell's Documentation web page "L2 cache is displayed in the system setup program."
To View Settings
Turn on (or restart) your computer.
When the blue Dell™ logo appears, press F2 immediately.
If you wait too long and the operating system logo appears, continue to wait until you see the Microsoft® Windows®
desktop. Then shut down your computer and try again.
Thank you
very much
