2 beeps during bootup/Code not in Manual - Optiplex GX620

What could be causing this?

What are the green and yellow lights (1 through 4) looking like?

If you can't find the answer by beeps, maybe you can find it through the LED lights.

Generally speaking: Beeps usually indicate memory issues.

Before next boot up, try reseating the memory. If unsuccessful, please post colors of LEDs.

Best wishes, and go Steelers!

Hi hi hi hi...thanks very much...yes it was definitely a memory issue.

There is 2 x 2GB modules installed . Both are labelled PC6400 but one of them is PC5300.

I think it is because the PC is supposed to use only PC5300 because with the PC5300 in Dimm0 there is no problem but with pC6400 in Dimm0 there is the blue screen.

I remember having the PC configured like this when I installed the larger memory but then decided later, well, it may go better if I put the faster memory module in the first Dimm ...thanks for your help.

um, just thinking a wee bit now, not very usual for me, but, I did have the memory arranged Dimm0 PC6400 and Dimm1 PC5300 for a few months. Prior, I had them the other way about.

By the way, I recently had all sorts of shut down problems. Will that have been because of the memory?

I thought that will have been because I installed a suspiciously appearing Adobe update which unusually appeared on the desktop in a window. Unusual for Adobe Flash Player I thought. The link to Adobe website seemed ok but the information there seemed disorganised and my suspicions increased.

I looked in the Add and Remove Programs window to see the upgrade was to a version 10 Flash Player. There was no other indication the update was to version 10 through the whol process. When I unistalled the Adobe Flash Player 10 update the PC returned to its glorious fast self but still kept getting those 2 short beeps at bootup.
