32-bit drivers missing from main driver page?
What is the meaning of this and was there ever a warning to the thousands of 32-bit O/S users that Dell would be pulling the plug on 32-bit support?!?
Supported Operating Systems
Your OptiPlex 9020 supports these operating systems:
- Windows 8, 64-bit
- Windows 7, 64-bit
- Ubuntu 12.04
- Windows 8.1, 64-bit
- BIOS
- Windows 10, 32-bit
- Windows 10, 64-bit

There is a driver page glitch as Windows 7 32 Bit is not showing up on multiple OptiPlex system models. The drivers are still there though, changing the website address manually will give you the 32 Bit drivers:

There could be a few reasons, 1 being the chipset companies pulled the drivers for those chipsets installed in the computer. Another being 32 bit programs should work fine on 64 bit windows. Also all computers come with at least 4GB of ram which 32 bit systems cannot fully address.

Could just be a technical glitch on the main Support site because all existing 32-bit drivers are still available on Dell's ftp site for this model.
Note that availability on the ftp site doesn't rule out the possibility there won't be any updated 32-bit drivers going forward for Win 7 or 8(.1). But at least the existing drivers are available if you ever need to reinstall them.
And maybe they assumed everyone took advantage of the free upgrade to Win 10, 32-bit, before the 29-July cutoff.

CLASS 3 bios will prevent 32 bit OS from running. You can tell if this is the case by going to CMOS and noting there is NO LEGACY. Under SATA Operation there is ONLY AHCI aka you cant boot ATA mode to bypass F6 drivers. Because the Secure boot certificates are WINDOWS 10 only windows 7 or 8 or ubuntu wont boot at all as their certificates are old. Microsoft didn't allow for windows 7 to boot in secure boot and windows 8 and 8.1 secure boot certificates are not valid for windows 10 UEFI.
Older dells like the optiplex series from GX620 to GX980 will become more and more popular once people find out they have been had.
I have clients that still need at least WIN9X DOS with Fat32 because they have elevator programs and such that use serial ports and PS2 mice and keyboards etc.
You cant run MBR ATA FAT16 or FAT32 DOS on any UEFI system.
XP is also locked out.
Because ATA mode is no longer supported. The F6 drivers are REQUIRED for windows 7 or 8 or 10. XP/VISTA aren't supported at all and will not install.
AHCI is the only option available in Modern Bios and chipsets.
INTEL RST F6 drivers are REQUIRED for all advanced format 4k sector hard drives. Most all drives Note the SATA OPERATION menu below. Note there IS NO ATA option.

UEFI CLASS 3 BIOS HAS NO CSM
This is Microsoft not dell
There are Classes of Bios.
Secure Boot is Available on Class 2.31 and up.
The issue is a Microsoft Mafia issue where UEFI and Secure Boot only allow 64 bit windows 8 and Microsoft Approved Drivers, Hardware, Software. This is why drivers for all kinds of cards, and Hardware for TV Tuners and Video Cards and Storage (INT13 Boot) controllers, do not work and are not seen (CSM Option Rom DISABLED) With Class 3 Bios CSM Option Roms are PERMANENTLY Disabled. Microsoft is trying to get vendors to be like Apple where when a new version of the OS is released Older versions will no longer boot or install or be downloadable. IPHOTO or OSX 10.6 10.7 10.8 10.9 10.10 10.11. All future machines UEFI Bios only allow the Latest OS to load. This makes hackintoshes harder and harder to make. In the case of class 3 it makes those machines WINDOWS 64 bit Only. No DOS or OS2 or Linux like Knoppix or any other OS that has not paid extortion fee to run. With CLASS 2.3.1 you can at least do LEGACY Boot. HOWEVER MBR and Syslinux and FAT32 booting is gone. Its UEFI GPT Booting Only enforced at the OS Level. This is one of the reasons they Killed XP. Because XP allowed Dual Booting via Fat32 partition not Requiring NTFS. Because of this It prevented Root Kits and other hiding of files and spyware etc on the drive in plain site. (Windows 10 has a built in keylogger to sample your keystrokes to better enhance your search experience. )
Once Bios gets to UEFI class 3 then they will be in Microsoft Jail and only boot Windows 8 because Class 3 UEFI removes all Legacy and CSM permanently. This is how nvidia explains it. In order to get the PC to boot with a graphics card that does not contain UEFI firmware(Microsoft Windows 8 certificate), the end-user must firstdisable the secure boot feature (CLASS 3 UEFI does not EVER allow this) in the system's SBIOS before installing the graphics card. CSM = Compatability Support Module aka LEGACY Bios. With Class 2.3 UEFI MBR ATA DOS BOOTING is removed so is syslinux MBR booting. No more Hirens or XP or DOS or Linux etc.
http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3156/~/when-installing-an-after-market-graphics-card-into-a-certified-windows-8-pc
You will also find that ATA mode aka MBR is gone from sata operation in bios.
Anything that uses Option Roms AKA Classic DOS BIOS to initialize including PCI-E storage and Raid and SCSI and TV Tuner Cards will stop working if LEGACY CSM OPTION ROMS is disabled. This is not a feature or desireable it is making ANYTHING not approved with Certificate in Bios Not load and Not Run whether its Hardware or Software or Drivers or any Combination thereof.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/INT_13H
INT 13 AH=42h Boot Hard Drive is an MSDOS MBR Booting mechanism from 1981. CSM (Compatibility Support Mode) with Legacy Option Roms is the Only thing that allows this.
This is also why F12 USB Booting doesn't work when secure Boot is turned on. USB booting can be MBR FAT16 and FAT32 aka Syslinux or MSDOS or WIN9X DOS.
This is also why Older Sound Cards and Network Cards and TV Tuner Cards etc do not work at all. Because Secure Boot Disables their Drivers from loading at all.
