3rd party case to optiplex990 motherboard frontpanel connectors

Hi All,

I have old optiplex990 with Desktop Tower (DT) where I had to replace my case.

New case comes with a regular generic front panel connectors for power switch, reset hdd etc.

Does anyone know how I would need to connect them to my old OP990 motherboard? From what I see dell is using some custom not very well described connectors.

Regards.

Yaloo

None of these connectors are documented for ANY dell and they never will be.

This is not information that dell provides.

Thank you for your reply.

This information is already known to me. I am just wondering if anyone ever tried to connect dell proprietary motherboard to generic case and if yes what pins they were using to connect i.e. powerswitch.

Regards,

Yaloo.

I think only the front panel connectors are proprietary, and they are easily traced.

If all you need is power on the 24 pin connector has the Green PSON which can be traced back.  Point being that this is the same pins the paperclip trick works with.
