48bit LBA support on GX620?

Does (any version of) the BIOS of the GX620 support 48bit LBA on the IDE channel?

The bios definately supports 48bit LBA (otherwise it wouldn't support SATA drives over 137GB).

Dell however doesn't sell the system with ATA drives, so it may not have officially been tested on the ATA ports, but I can't imagine that there would be a problem with that.

Thanks for the input, DevMgr! I have been looking around for more info, and the following scenario seems quite plausible: the BIOS-level 48bit support could be provided via the SATA controller embedded on the mainboard. In such a setup there will be no 48bit support on the IDE channel, even though there is 48bit support for SATA drives. Can anyone here confirm or deny this from personal experience?

Considering the OptiPlexes from long ago supported it (I ran a GX260 with 200GB IDE HD and GX270 with 250GB SATA HD)

I would say yes. (GX260 recognized 189GB, which means it works)

Thanks to all for their replies! I can now confirm from personal experience that indeed 48bit LBA is supported on the IDE channel of the GX620.
