AC411 speakers not functioning properly?
I just got the dell xps 8700 special edition (windows 8) and ordered the AC411 wireless speakers with it partially because it says in the product sales pitch states: "Stream music from your phone, tablet or other Bluetooth device and hear every impressive detail through stylish wireless speakers." Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case as my phone cannot detect the speakers - just searches endlessly. My computer won't detect them either when I go to "Add bluetooth device" - it too just searches endlessly with the speakers never coming up. The weird thing is that the speakers end up working on my computer anyway even though it never detected the speakers via bluetooth. In my list of devices it shows: Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio). Maybe I just don't understand how these things work - but that seems weird to me. In any case - my phone cannot detect which is half the reason I got the speakers - anyone else have this issue? I don't have any problem pairing my phone with other devices. thanks

I'd like an answer, too. My Samsung SIII cannot detect these speakers.

Hi. Did any of you folks get a solution? I have a Surface Pro2 with Windows 8 and my brand new AC411 speakers are not being detected when I "Add New Device". Is this product not compatible with Windows 8?

Here are the manuals:
http://www.dell.com/support/Manuals/us/en/19/Product/dell-ac411
* The supported operating systems are Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8
* Turn the AC411 off
* Turn on the bluetooth on your computer or your bluetooth device
* Press the right power button on the AC411 remote control
* Press and hold the left bluetooth button on the AC411 remote control for two seconds to enable device search
* It should start to blink as it pairs
* it should be on when connected

I don't know why this didn't work for me before, but it works now. I think the procedure is touchy. I also heard a beep after holding down the bluetooth button that I don't recall hearing before.
Thanks

I know this is a really dumb question. I also have a new XPS 8700 and AC411 speakers that I can't get to work. I plugged in the green cables and the bluetooth light is flashing but I don't have any sound. How do you turn up the volume??? Thanks.

Not a dumb question at all. You don't want the Bluetooth light to flash / blink. You want it to glow constantly. Turn on the device (the little box which also serves as your volume adjust - the pad on top rotates) and then turn on your Bluetooth. It will blink. THEN hold it for about 2 seconds - mine made a little sound and lo and behold the blue light stayed on. It had associated with my Surface Pro and I had sound. Hope that helps.

I just bought a dell xps 8700 with windows 7, and ordered the AC411 speakers with it. I have been able to pair the speakers to it, but I'm not getting any sound? It is also plugged in the back of the computer in the audio jack. I have spent too many hours trying to figure this out and was hoping someone might have some answers. Also, when I try to add a device the speakers do not show up. Any ideas?

I have the same problem with the rest. Dell AC411 works with my new XPS 8700 Win 8.1 but I cannot stream music from my Android smartphone as the Dell site claims. It does show that the XPS 8700 is paired to my smartphine via bluetooth but when I play music, there is no sound at all. Not even from my phone unless I disconnect the bluetooth.
Also, under add device, it cannot find Dell AC411, just shows Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio).
Please help as I bought the AC411 for its streaming capabilities via bluetooth.

Spent 2 hours with tech support today and came to conclusion that 411 speakers will not work on a 8700 computer. Dell is shipping me Bose speakers as a replacement.

I am having the same problem. I just received them yesterday. I get no sound from the speakers yet device manager says they are operating properly. I have an XPS 9100 with windows 10. Another question, if these are Bluetooth why do you have to hard wire them into the system? Logic escapes me.
