How to increase memory (RAM) for Dell Dimension 8200 Series (400 Mhz FSB) Desktop/PC?

RAM for this model is very pricey
If you want to pursue it, you need to know what you have, before you can decide what you need.

After upgrading my machine to 64bit Windows 7, was able to put 8 mb of RAM in my machine without issue. Got 4 x 2mb simms from Crucial and replaced 1mb SIMMS that were OEM.

I don't think the 8200 takes 2GB RAMBUS memory sticks. And I don't think it is a 64 bit system. I don't believe you.
The last time I looked, 1GB RAMBUS sticks cost over $300 each.
