The Studio XPS 8100 motherboard has one PCIe x16 slot and two x1 slots. You can add a PCIe x1 graphics card, however it would be slower that the AMD Radeon HD 5770. Some Radeon HD 5770 cards have four ports, 2 DVI, 1 HDMI and 1DP ports. You can connect 4 monitors to the card using the Eyefinity technology.
Please let me know if you need further information or if the card has three ports.
Thank You. I checked and I do have the HDMI output port as you have pictured. I connected a display to it, but I can't get the computer to see if. I've tried through the eyefinity setup and it won't detect it. I uninstalled and reinstalled the current version of catalyst control and I still don't see the monitor connected via HDMI.
Is there anything you can think of that I can try to get it to see the monitor via HDMI?
Thank you for your reply and for providing an update on the status. Please select the input source on the monitor as HDMI and check if it is detected by the Catalyst Control Center.
Thanks. I did ensure the monitor was set to HDMI and turned the monitor on and off several times and re-selected HDMI several times. I still wss never able to detect it in Catalyst Control Center.
Thank you for your reply and for providing an update on the status. I suggest you to update the video drivers for the AMD Radeon HD 5770 graphics card by punching in the Service Tag from the following link: http://dell.to/QjjZDA
You may also try connecting the display with a different HDMI cable to check, if the issue is caused by the cable.
Sorry for the delay in responding. I tested the HDMI cable from the monitor to my laptop and it worked without any problem. I pulled up the page on your site as you suggested and I ran the flash updater, but it said I was already up to date. I then tried to install the suggested drivers on that page and it said something to the effect that there were no compatible devices found.
I've completely uninstalled and reinstalled and uninstalled catalyst control from their web site a couple times now; I currently have it uninstalled to see if that would allow me to install the drivers from your site, but it still gave the no compatiable devices error message.
Do you think I should go back and install the catalyst control from raedon again? My 3 main monitors seem to be working without catalyst control installed.
