After installing an update.....
I installed an update and now everything appears larger in size than it was before and i cant figure out how to change it back. It affects how i can look at things when i open the internet, the icons on my desktop are bigger. It is driving me nuts. Please help.

On the surface it sounds like you updated your video driver, but since you did not provide that info we are somewhat in the dark here.
It would help to post your Dell model number, the os your are running and the update you performed.
