Are P3 P4 P5 all the same

Dells always have several power cords internal to the unit and they are labeled P1, P2 P3, P4 P5 etc.

Are these all functionally the same? i.e interchangeable when it comes to plugging in devices?

Depends on the PC.  If there black power connectors, these are SATA and are NOT to be used with Molex connections (i.e. the 4-pin connector - white - and used for optical drives).

This is an ideal list of connectors.  This one is for the D8400.

What is your system model?

This system is a Dell Dimension XPS B933.

What/where would I find which Px goes to what device?  Not only for this system, but for other Dell systems.

There must be a way to find this on the Dell website.

Thanks for posting the link... let me clairfy the question.   I am concerned about the 4 pin white connectors.  This system has 5 of them.

I have two hard drives I am working with.

So the revised question is:

For devices that have a plug that accepts the 4 pin adapter, does it make a difference which one I use?

The ones that are exactly alike are all the same, but don't try to plug something into a device if it doesn't fit. If the correct type of plug you are looking for is exactly the same size and type as another, you can use either one.
