I tried the same thing and it ran but it popped up an alert saying I had to unplug all USB devices except the keyboard and mouse. There are several devices inside the box that are plugged into the USB (e.g. memory card reader). Do I have to take it to bits and disconnect them as well or is it safe to continue with those still plugged in.
I never did a BIOS update before but Dell Support Center (which I just installed today) says it is a critical update. Am not really sure of the consequences of doing it or of not doing it.
Can anyone advise as to whether I should go ahead with it or leave it alone?
Sorry as I know its late, but you dont have to unplug anything internal. Just make sure there are no Memory Cards in the reader at the time and make sure there are no EXTERNAL items plugged into USB but mouse and KB. You should be fine.
