Apparently the Dell chipset drivers were not reinstalled.  They have to be installed before installing any device drivers or the devices will not be found.

Normal reinstaliton sequence is to (1) Install OS (2) install Dell chipset drivers (3) install device drivers (4) install Dell and user programs and restore backed up user data.

Fireberd:  Thanks for you help.  I did resinstall the Dell chipset drivers and in the sequence you mentioned.  I also reinstalled the Audio Analog Devices ADI 198X Integrated Audio Driver Version 22.  When I use the Dell Diagnostic Program I get the following error messages.

Intel ICH6 Audio:  1B22:061B (Analog Sound Playback Test)  1B22:0F1B (Surround Sound Playback Test)   1B22:101B (Center/LFE Sound Playback Test    1B22:071B  (Record and Playback Test)
