To the first person: I can't see your name. I really think this is an issue of rights/security and Dell. My system was working good till those changes i made. At the same time i have done it with my husbands pc as wel and this one is working good. It's was'nt the first time for me.
Dageezerus, i have tried and was happy to see the system starting up. But............it stopped with the same error written on top. I have the idea that the system is not able to find the neccesary files. Something like ntloader. About the Microsoft article. My English is'nt good enough for that but there is for me no opportunity to go in the registry :-)
Post your question with the error message as opreys4`s post stated, in the Software - Windows XP board, for the other person to post afterwards was rude as usual. The software board is the proper place for your problem.
You are correct, the software board is the place to post this issue.
I am curuious what is rude about posting a Microsoft link that is specific to the error posted though??? I just didn't feel like looking for another post.
Dageezerus, T_D was talking about my link. Well, T_D that was an other question in an other categorie. Right now i have formatted the C:\ and made a clean Install. I am sure now that it was the map of Dell with all his drivers. I have changed the numbers of the administrator (500) and me (1005) from te last time in names. Going offline/online and no problem. Now i have to go for all the drivers. Hopely Dell has a special page for that. My networkcard is not recognized. A lot to do.

This is really more of a Windows XP question. You might want to post in the software forums under Windows XP.
When you get this error, please write down exactly what it says and post that error in your message. Try to describe what is causing the error.
