BIOS Flash Utility?

I previously posted my problems with flashing the BIOS on a Dimension 4400 from A04 to A06. I cannot get past creating the bootable floppy disc because an error keeps popping up. I was wondering if anyone here has heard or can recommennd Winflash as a means of updating the BIOS on a Dell computer?

Thanks.

I've never tried WinFlash so I don't know if it will work on a Dell system or not.  I also don't know if the program is compatible with a Dell BIOS in that it won't assist in corrupting it.

Instead of taking chances why not use a friend's or work  computer to create the boot BIOS upgrade floppy disk you need in order to do the BIOS upgrade.  The BIOS upgrade disk can be "created" on another computer and then used to upgrade your BIOS on your machine.  Another suggestion would be to shut down all unneccessary programs running in the background in Windows before attempting to create the disk.  I am not a Windows XP user so I don't know the proper procedure in shutting down unneeded programs, but I suspect if XP is similar to the other Bill Gates' creations it can be done.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't realize I could create the floppy on another system. I can try that right here on another Dell Dimension. Will give it a shot. Also will shut down unneeded programs. Thanks again.
