BIOS update failed on Dimension 8300

BIOS update from A03 to A07 failed in windows 7, see attached screen capture. Flash access denied even though I am logged on as administrator. Ran compatibility trouble shooter and running update in compatibility mode for windows xp. XP mode update for windows 7 no longer available from Microsoft. Any suggestions?

Hi Rumpel,

The Dimension 8300 computer is not compatible with Windows 7 OS and the BIOS update is not much necessary for your computer. In order to check and download the same please click on this link http://dell.to/1il63Vj which has the detailed info on the BIOS and its versions.
If the update is not successful, you can still use the same A03 version and install complete Windows updates on your computer.

Any suggestions?
You need to be doing this from DOS. Note that the Dimension 8300 is compatible with Windows 7; I have helped more than one person successfully configure a Dimension 8300 with Windows 7.
