Best Video Card Upgrade for Dell Studio 540

I bought my computer around 3 or 4 years ago, I am an avid player of The Sims series and I'd like to be able to play the new games they are releasing however my video card is not up to par. I asked on live chat about upgrading and was suggested the "AMD Radeon HD 6670 1 GB PCI Express Graphic Card I'm not sure if this is qualified in the requirements for the new sims games. Here are the requirements for the game :

Video: 128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
* For NVIDIA ION™ computers, the game requires at least 2.0 GB RAM.
** 9.6 GB of hard drive space if installing with The Sims 3.
Supported Video Cards: Nvidia GeForce 6 series or better, and all NVidia G, GT, GTS, and GTX video cards. ATI Radeon™ series card 9500 series or better, and all ATI X, X1, and HD video cards; Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA): GMA 3-Series, GMA 4-Series
Please note that the GeForce 6100 and 7100 cards are not supported.

Does the video card recommended qualify? or is there a better one that I can purchase that will fit in my computer?

Thanks for any help :)

this is the system information from my dxdiag

You can get the 2GB if you want.  I just compare pricing.  If it's not overly priced compared to the 1GB cards, then the 2GB can be a good choice.

The HD 6670 is more than enough for The Sims game.  The Radeon 9500 series mentioned is really old and completely worthless today.  HERE is a popular one on Newegg and probably one that I would pick.  Your next step up if you want to spend a bit more would be the HD 7750 followed next by the GTX 650.  However, even the HD 6670 will play the game great on high settings.  If all you're going to do is play The Sims, then there is probably no reason to look past the HD 6670.

Yes.  The recommended card for the game is the HD 5670 on the AMD side so both the HD 6670 and HD 7750 exceed it.  The HD 7750 would work fine on your power supply.  These HERE seem to be the top 3 picks for this card.

With the HD 7750 I won't need to upgrade my PSU or anything right? I thought about buying Guild Wars 2 also and playing that if I upgraded, would the 7750 run that smoothly?

Can I only get the 1GB or is the 2GB an option? There is a 2GB at my local Best Buy that I could pick up today, otherwise I'll just order online if the 2GB can't work/fit in my computer.
