Blue Screen error 0x0000008E

STOP 0x0000008E errors are usually caused by memory hardware failures and more rarely by device driver issues, viruses, or hardware failures other than your RAM.

I’d suggest that you run the diagnostics on the computer by following the steps mentioned below and check if there is any issue with the hardware on your system.

1. Turn on or restart the computer.
2. Immediately at the Dell logo screen, starting tapping the key once a second until the One Time Boot menu appears (if the computer boots to Windows turn the computer off and try again).
3. At the One Time Boot menu, press the arrow key to highlight Diagnostics, PSA+ or Enter ePSA, then press to begin the hardware Diagnostics.
4. Write down any error codes listed. Reply to us with the error codes.

Also. I 'd like to know the Dell model number and the operating system you are trying to install.

troubleshoot by removing all unnecessary hardware devices that are installed on the computer.

This behavior may occur if one of the following conditions is true:

   One or more of the random access memory (RAM) modules that are installed on your computer are faulty.

   The RAM configuration is incompatible due to High Density or Low Density or Mixed Vendor.

troubleshoot this behavior, follow these steps:

   Remove some of the memory modules that are installed on the computer. Leave at least the RAM that is required for the computer to start and run Windows.

   For example, if two 256-MB memory modules are installed on your computer, remove one of the memory modules.

   Restart your computer,

   If you again receive the error message

   Remove a different memory module, or install the RAM in a different memory slot.

   Restart your computer

Try Testing 1 Module at a time in 1 slot until you have eliminated the bad one.

You have Bad drivers and or Bad ram and or damaged hard drive.

You have to get to tested good and add back.

Live linux cd would be one way to F12 boot and test.
