Hi Boris,

I will suggest you to run the hardware diagnostics on your system. The steps are:

  • Shut down and restart the computer.
  • Press the F12 key immediately when the Dell logo appears. The Boot Device list appears.
  • Select ‘Boot to Utility Partition’ and press the Enter key.

You may also run the memory test to check for any memory errors. On the ‘Chose an Option’ screen, select ‘Test Memory’ for a stand-alone memory diagnostics.

Boot the system in Safe Mode and check if you get the blue screen error in safe mode. The steps are given below:

  • Restart or Power on the system.
  • Tap at dell logo until ‘Advanced Boot Options’ appear.
  • Choose ‘Safe Mode’ and hit ‘Enter’

Also, check the Device Manager to see if the drivers are installed properly. You may share the screenshot of the device manager.

  • Press ‘Windows’ key + R on ‘Desktop’ screen
  • Type ‘devmgmt.msc’ in run box and press ‘Enter’
  • Click > sign next to ‘Network adapters’ or ‘Bluetooth Radios’

Keep me posted with the results. I will be glad to assist you further.

Hi Boris,

Please provide the device ID for the hardware that requires drivers. You may follow the instructions mentioned below to get the Device ID:

  • In ‘Device Manager’, right click ‘System IR devices’.
  • Click ‘Properties’.
  • Click ‘Details’.
  • Search for ‘Device Instance ID’.

Provide the numbers after VEN and DEV.

Also, share the contents of minidump folder to identify the cause. To send the mini dump files, you may create a zip file for minidump files and follow the steps below:

  • Right-click the minidump file, point to ‘Send To’ and then click ‘Compressed (zipped) Folder’.
  • Click ‘Use Rich formatting’ at the bottom right
  • Click insert image and then click ‘Browse’
  • Navigate to the location where zip file is saved and upload the file

Keep me posted with the information. I will be glad to assist you further.

Sorry for delay,

1. I don't see 'Device Instance ID’ under 'System IR devices' on my machine with numbers after VEN and DEV

2. I did copy and zip minidump file but I don't see the option = 'insert image' under this email editor.

Am I missing something?

Thank you very much for help!

Boris

Hi Boris,

In order to get the 'Device Instance ID’ or the ‘Hardware ID’ for a required driver, you need to right click on the required driver entry and then click on properties. In the next window, click on ‘Details, and then look for 'Device Instance ID’ or the ‘Hardware ID’.

To share the contents of the minidump file, you may follow the steps below. Click on 'Use rich formatting': Once you click on the icon, a window will open. Click on 'Browse' to browse the image. Once the file is uploaded, click on 'Insert':

Keep me posted with the information. I will be glad to assist you further.

Hi Kuldeep,

1. I did the same but I have on my comp only 'Hardware Ids' and not 'Device Instance ID'

and info is - ROOT\CIRclass

2. Was IE9.0 issue - I'm able to upload zip on Chrome

I did one small zip and will try second with more files in.

Thank you very much for help!

My comp is doing crazy shot down multiple time and sometimes cannot start at all

Boris

Hi Boris,

Thank you for sharing the information.

As per the minidump file shared by you, some of the core operating system files are causing the system to crash.

I would suggest you to backup all your important data, and restore the system to factory settings.

If you do not have the option to restore the system, you may consider reinstalling windows.

You may refer to the link http://dell.to/15CpQya for steps on how to restore or reinstall the windows.

Note: Please back up all your data before restoring / reinstalling Operating system on the machine.  Dell will not be responsible for any data loss/ data back up after operating system reinstallation.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to reply for any further assistance.

Hi Kuldeep,

I am getting a similar error message on my computer (error message listed at bottom). I was wondering if you can help? Last week I did a factory reset on my computer and installed the new drivers myself. I suspect, that I downloaded one of the wrong drivers. I down loaded a lot for networking, wireless, Bluetooth and a UM Bus drivers.

I followed the steps above. When I pressed F12 during boot, there was no "boot to Utility Partition" option and I couldn't find a "test memory option"

I booted the computer again for a standard start up and then ran a memory test - by typing memory into the start button and then clicking "windows memory diagnostic" button. No errors were found.

I then went to my device manager and looked at all the devices and clicked update driver, all said driver updated. nothing wrong there.

I am not sure where to look next, can you please help?
