Can The Dell Dimension 5100 Support "65nm" Pentium D CPU's?

Hi, I'm pretty sure it will support the 90nm Pentium D's, but will it support the higher 3.4Ghz 65nm with 4MB cache CPU's?

Please advice, as I'm looking for a new CPU to upgrade my system to to get some boost as the Pentium 4 630 is not useable with Photoshop and Adorbe After Effects etc...

Thanks!

Hi, Marvin81,

Sorry, Prescott processors only, dual core will not work. Might want to save your pennies for a new system.

Hi, thanks. Are you 100% sure... I've seen 5150's with Pentium D's as high as the 9XX series, and the 5150 and the 5100 share the same motherboard...

I have the same question as above. I've seen the 5150 using a Pentium D and wanted to know if my 5100 will support Pentium D and if so, upto what model? Please don't point to the dell spec sheet as the thing is outdated by 5 years, way before Pentium D hit the shelves.
