Cannot get any webcam to work with Vostro 200

Running XP pro SP4.

I tried Creative Live VF0050,  No name USB microscope and Logitec c260.  Front and back USB ports.

Loaded the drivers as instructed, but every application (Dell something Central and Skype) says "no webcam detected".

These cameras work OK with my Latitude D610.

I am using 6 USB ports (all 4 on the back and 3 of 4 on the front) for printer, ext drive, kbd, mouse, etc.  The ports all work.

Try using the webcam with all other USB devices, except mouse and keyboard, disconnected.

It's possible you've just overloaded the system with too many power-hungry devices so it's ignoring the webcam. In this case, you may need an externally powered USB hub with its own power brick.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I will try it tonight.
