Hi! New XPS 710 from the Dell Australia Outlet arrived today. I'm planning on installing a 150GB Raptor for Windows, apps and games; and another 500GB drive for storage (as ordered it comes with 320GB one only). Anyway, I'm trying to open the side panel and am having no luck! I lift the latch at the back and am trying to pull the side off at the top like instructions said and the darn thing won't budge. Any advice? Tips/ tricks to get this thing open? Thanks! Stu
the latch wise I had the same thing, you have to pull it to the right like is if you are starting a lawnmower (pulling the cord to get it to go) or in another way, if the back of the machine is facing u. pull the latch leaver towards yourself, then the case is easy to grasp.
Yeah, I was doing it right in the first place, but as you mentioned chama the latch was just stuck fast. I ended up getting a screwdriver (with a cloth over the end, didn't wanna scratch the new rig!) and prying it up. Now it comes out and the panel comes off easily. The new Raptor is in and so far so good :) Stu
if you think whats bad, my wife had to do it, she opened the case after I was struggling with mine, unfortunately she broke one of her finger nails! :D
Did she give you a hard time over it? :smileyvery-happy: Glad to see the problems solved!
